I’m 85% Sure I’ll Write Even If You Don’t Read (maybe)
November 25, 2009
Here’s an unveiling for everyone: I hope to write a book one day. I won’t go into any detail about those details, but whenever I read a book (or flip through a CD booklet) that includes a page for “thanks,” I always wonder who I would include on that page if I had that page to write.
Have you ever thought about what you would say if you won the American Music Award, People’s Choice Award, or Nickelodeon Splat Award? Apparently you have to give props to God (because if you don’t He’ll take your talent away?), you have to thank your producer, your manager, your mom (if you’re still on good terms), the music guild that voted, and sometimes it happens that those who listened to the music get a general shout out.
Most likely inspired by the current holiday, I thought I’d write my “thanks” page for my blog. So here are my “Shout Outs.”
Shan and J :: Thanks for the French Press, the brew is where all this began.
Robbi Fish :: Thanks for the swift kick to get this thing going.
My Sweet :: Thanks for reading every single one of these posts before they go live, to keep pathetic material from going live.
Yungdak :: Thanks for your colaboration.
www.ryancarson.us // kimstroh.blogspot.com // werewolfjesusbook.blogspot.com :: Thanks for your sidebar links.
And You, The Readers :: Thanks for reading, commenting, encouraging, questioning, rejecting, supporting, and returning.
But, even if no one read, I think I’d still write. It does sting to realize you’re unread; but during those moments when I realize I’m loved whether or not I’m read, that’s when I’m most thankful to write. I don’t have to write to impress my readers, but in those unpredictable times when I write because I’m loved, I’m satisfied to write despite being read.
